This work marks the primordial moment when stone ceases to be an opaque mass and becomes a pulsating source. A monumental travertine pebble, hollowed at its core, is transformed into a basin of energy where the lithic material is no longer a limit, but the vessel for a luminous force pressing to escape, forcing its way through the surface via sharp, piercing incisions.
The core concept is the transmutation of the element: light does not merely inhabit the matter but "gushes" forth with the same vital dynamics as water from a spring. Through the rugged fissures of the travertine, the luminous flow is shaped into directional bands that project onto the wall, turning the surface into an immaterial extension of the sculpture. What we observe is a tuft of rays defying mineral gravity, converting the millenary weight of the rock into an aerial and vibrant projection.
Philosophically, the work investigates the act of revelation. If stone historically represents silence and closure, here it is open again to allow its energetic nature to manifest. The contrast between the organic, ancient form of the pebble and the rigor of the cuts creates a visual tension where light is not an accessory, but the very breath of the stone expanding into the surrounding space.
